INTRODUCTION

      The department of electrical technology at Government College of Technology Mingora Swat is one of the pioneer and prestigious department. The department was established in 1984 at the time when GCT Swat was the only college in Malakand division. The department is equipped with qualified faculty and state of the art laboratories. These laboratories serve not only DAE students but they also provide services in the form of different short courses. The department offers admission in three years DAE electrical in morning shift every year for the students of district Swat. Some seats for admission are reserved for the students of ex-FATA and other region. The department also offers admission in three years DAE electrical in second shift program for the students of all over the province.

Scope 

Engineers and associate engineers have got pivotal creative role in the field of industry. On successful completion of diploma in electrical technology, the students possess the ability to perform the duties like domestic and industrial wiring, motors and generators repair and maintaince , three phase transformer rewinding,  integrated problem solving, problem identification, testing, solution verification, and its implementation. Within electrical technology, the main employment areas include electrical power generation transmission and distribution, power systems, installation and design of electrical machinery and communication / mobile companies, internet service provider etc.

 There are four laboratories well equipped with modern machinery and tools in the department of electrical technology.
