Introduction

Department of Mechanical Technology is in operation since the establishment of the college in 1984. About 50 students are being enrolled in 3 years D.A.E program every year in morning shift. Onward from 2005 this department is enrolling 50 students in second shift as well.

This department prepares Associate Engineers with a broad practical knowledge who are then capable to solve mechanical engineering problems in the field and industries.

They are made capable to apply knowledge acquired during the course of their study in this college to solve practical engineering problems.   They are prepared to work for socio technical development and could be able to lead a team of skilled workers in the field and industries.

SCOPE OF THE TECHNOLOGY 

DAE Mechanical is a three years post-secondary program of instruction. It includes regular studies having classroom lectures, workshop assignments, labs experiments, industrial projects and industrial tours spread over a three years.

DAE Mechanical students have broad career opportunities in numerous fields. They could be absorbed in different productions, processes, operations, and maintenance related works in the fields and industries. They have bright job demand in locomotives, ship, aviation, oil fields, mining, chemical, fertilizers, cements, construction industries etc.  

The Job description of DAE qualified students varies from industry to industry and different for different job requirements and needs of the employer. Their responsibilities vary from a skilled worker to the management level in accordance to the expertise they gain during their job in the practical field. The DAE students are more practical hand and can accept any type of challenging and laborious tasks.
